Keep a journal of your inspirations.  Every day write down one of the "sayings to live by" that has occurred to you during the day.

Some of these may be the old proverbs that you remember from your culture such as "A rolling stone gathers no moss," or "A penny saved is a penny earned."

Some might be things you have come upon in your reading such as these two of my favorites, "Don't argue with an idiot. People watching may not be able to tell the difference." and "Spectacular failures are sometimes more useful than modest successes."

Some might give truth in humor such as the bumper sticker style "LIFE IS SHORT. DANCE NAKED AND WIGGLE YOUR BUTT!"

Others will be from your own unique discovered wisdom.

This is how all collections of sayings, maxims, proverbs, and adages got started.

The important thing about this collection is that it is uniquely yours. It consists of guidance that you thought was important for yourself.
